Was chatting with Prime Video about a technical problem; apparently, they use a company called Just Answer. In the chat, I was told to go to Just Answer, and for a $5.00 refundable fee, I could chat with a technician.

But instead of getting charged and refunded $5.00, I was charged $95.00.

Tried to get a refund, but even with proof of conversation, they refuse to refund. Will take it up with the credit card.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. They paid me back almost $700 in charges.

It took me about seven hours of dealing with them, reporting them and threatening to sue them. Just stay on them. They had actually hung up on me six times.

I reported them to every government agency that I could report them to to consumer affairs to everything. I had found on my government page that they had a lawsuit pending against them so I also use that information and told them that I will join the lawsuit or I will start my own lawsuit against them.

I would like a refund Credit card charged for the past eight months $65 a month I would never have agreed to and signed up for anything like that. I called them for a refund on my credit card that theyve been charging me for since June of twenty twenty five over five hundred dollars so the gal asked for my phone number.

I hope thats not showing up my e-mail. Oh thats not showing up she cant help me she said I said I just canceled the membership with you guys through my credit card number now youre telling me that you cannot reimburse me anything because I dont show up in your system. How are you charging me a monthly fee if I dont show up in your system. I am so livid right now.

I dont even know what to do. I dont even know what to do. I guess Ill have to contact my credit card company. I just dont know what to do at this point.

I am really pissed off. They hung up on me five times today five times I am pissed.

I am really pissed. I have never been treated like this by any company ever thats taking your *** money.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with settlement agreement. Called the company and spoke to an AI telephonic program.

I was assured I would get a full refund. I received a text confirming my account that I did not sign up for was cancelled and I would be refunded the account fee. I was in my Intuit account trying to download TurboTax. I thought I was communicating with someone from my Intuit account.

I don't know how to avoid getting scammed when you are in a supposed reliable account and you think they are helping you. I agreed to pay a refundable $5, if they could not answer my question.

The next day I was greeted with a non-refundable S45 .membership fee. I never knew I was communicating with JustAnswer.

Yesterday I was in my Intuit account having download problems. I thought the person I was communicating with was from TurboTax.

I don't understand how this company is in my Intuit account. It was disingenuous; I was told for expert tax help I would be charged five dollars, and it was refundable if they didn't answer my questions. Today I received an email indicating that I was charged a $45 membership fee.

I finally found the phone, which is AI, and was told the membership was cancelled and I would get a refund. The robot person did this with no problem.

I paid the $5 fee to ask my questions. A week later, my credit card bill showed $38.50 for a membership subscription.

I did not knowingly or definitively sign up for a subscription.
The expert I asked questions, Adam Electric, was competent.
If the legal terms buried the $38.50, the $5 offer for a question was the scam. I read things carefully and would have seen the hidden charge. Here is their statement in FAQ:
"In most circumstances, when you use JustAnswer, you're signing up for a monthly membership-based service that gives you ongoing access to professionals. You will be charged a one-time join fee and also a monthly fee for use of the platform*.

Both fees are charged upon sign up, but the monthly charge will recur unless you cancel. You can cancel anytime prior to future billing periods to avoid future charges."

Wow, you got off easy with $38 I see other memberships are charging 35 my credit card for the past seven months has been charged $65 a month. Period shows no use.

Apparently it was downloaded back in June used that one time and never again yeah and they’re telling me that I have no reimbursement coming. Well they better think again.

However, I think their business practices are not ethical. Warn everyone not to get started with the $5 deal. The $5 pays for your entry into a $38/month subscription.

Well, can you got off easy again? I say to another dissatisfied customer of just answer.

You know I pay all my credit cards online and a very seldom look at a statement unless things just seem out of whack so they did this past month so I looked and then opened up all my past statements and since June 2025, what’s that six or seven months?months I’ve been charged $65 a month on an account that they can clearly see has not been used. Do they think I’m just wanna give my money away apparently because I guess I did. They’re telling me I get no reimbursement. The woman hung the phone up on me so we’ll see about that.

I will keep you all posted on how they handle this.!!! absolutely ridiculous. Yes that’s how they make their money. They steal it.

If you have a membership that isn’t being used personally I feel the company is responsible if they’re a good responsible company to contact you and say hey, you haven’t been using your membership. Do you still want to keep it but no, they make it so difficult for you to cancel it such as four separate phone calls. I was hung up on four separate phone calls. Then they got technical with the phone number for the membership when it’s my car being charged I don’t give a *** whose phone number is on there which it happen to be my husband‘s.

And the same with the email.

It was his email and his phone number but it’s my card that’s being charged yeah so that’s another problem. I don’t give a *** what information is on there if my card is being charged, then they need to take care of it with my card.

Again $29 for a membership what the *** are they charging me repeatedly $65 a month for on a membership that has been used one time back in June 2025 $65 a month they’ve been charging me. My fault for not opening my statements, cause they pay everything online but I’m still entitled to some type of reimbursement and the woman just hung up on me so I don’t think that their customer service is very friendly either the woman hung up when I asked for reimbursement she said we don’t give reimbursement and hung up.
